As the mother of 2-year-old triplets, Desiree Fortin has bid adieu to things such as peeing in privacy — and being on time. It’s something all parents of toddlers can relate to. A typical photo on her Instagram series “RIP Mom Truths” racks up more than 1,000 likes and hundreds of comments.
Using a letter board, the 32-year-old from Encinitas, California, spells out the ways her life has changed since she and her husband, Ryan, welcomed their children Charlize, Sawyer and Jax in August 2015. (The adorable blonde toddlers often appear in the pictures!)
In one especially popular post, the blogger grimaces as she attempts to clean her filthy minivan. It’s so bad she’s wearing rubber gloves and plastic safety glasses.
“The trio has certainly taken over,” Desiree tells Us Weekly. “I have found moldy banana peels, all kinds of snacks, dirty diapers, underwear, a bag of moldy bread and peacock feather all safety stored in my van.”
Desiree, who struggled to conceive for three years before finding success with IVF, wouldn’t change her life with triplets for anything. She just yearns for sleep (and maybe a nice peaceful walk through Target)! Next up, the blogger plans to stage RIP spa days, high heels and relaxing beach days.
When Desiree launched the series, she did so with the hope of making other mothers laugh and to remind them that they are not alone. “While this mom life is truly the best,” Desiree muses to Us, “it is OK to miss our pre-mom life, pre-mom bodies and everything in between.”
