Tyrese Gibson and his wife Samantha welcomed their first child together, a daughter named Soraya Lee Gibson, on Monday, October 1. And the delivery was anything but fast and furious.
“My wife is the real champion here I have never seen this level of strength and will power,” Gibson wrote in an Instagram post on Tuesday. “She was in labor for 30 hours.” In the picture, the 39-year-old is seen dozing on a hospital couch beside his little girl who is sleeping in a bassinet. Joked Gibson: “Already on #DaddyDuties.”
The couple’s “new angel” weighed in at 8 pounds, 6 ounces “We know our daughter came here to change things,” the R&B singer gushed on Instagram. “We wanna say thank you and we appreciate your prayers and love.”
Soraya joins 11-year-old big sister Shayla, the action star’s child from his previous marriage to Norma Gibson.
On Monday, the actor proudly shared a picture of his newborn’s left and right footprints.
Sensing their princess was about to make her debut, the Transformers star and the social worker wisely crammed in a date night on Saturday.
“Starbucks, dinner and a movie,” he told his Instagram followers. “The countdown is real for our angel. She’s coming any minute, any moment.” Samantha, who was 40 weeks pregnant at the time, shared a selfie taken that evening and wrote: “Ready for baby girl to make her grand entrance. So ready to get into my snap back zone, you have no idea.”
The parents, who tied the knot in a surprise ceremony on February 14, 2017, announced in April that they were expanding their family.
