Add Levon Hawke to the list of celebrity kids who look just like their parents. When Uma Thurman brought Levon to the premiere of her new caper comedy, The Con Is On, earlier this month, onlookers couldn’t help but do a double take. With his sandy blonde hair and big blue eyes, the 16-year-old bears an uncanny resemblance to his mother.
Thurman, 48, shares Levon and daughter Maya, 19, with her ex-husband Ethan Hawke. She is also mom of Luna, 5. (She and Luna’s father, French hedge-fund tycoon Arpad Busson, called off their engagement in 2014 after dating for seven years.)
Though Levon and Maya are both grown, the Pulp Fiction actress doesn’t consider them her friends just yet. “We’re in transition,” she told Us Weekly at Roxy Cinema in New York City on May 2. “It’s very weird when kids grow up. I don’t have it all in a bottle yet.”
“They don’t listen all all,” she continued. “You have to find ways to be heard that are certainly not authoritarian.”
When it comes to Luna, Thurman notes that she’s more relaxed with No. 3 and doesn’t put as much pressure on herself when it comes to juggling career and family perfectly. “It would just bring me down if I let my responsibilities truly overwhelm me!” she explained to Us. “I would probably freeze and then cry.”
Maya, meanwhile, is following in her parents’ footsteps: She plays Jo March in the PBS miniseries adaption of Louisa May Alcott’s 1986 classic, Little Women, which will air May 13.
