Vanessa Lachey feels like one very lucky lady. While speaking with Us Weekly at the Fox All-Star Party in West Hollywood on Aug. 1, the actress — promoting her upcoming new sitcom Dads — gushed about her husband, 98 Degrees singer Nick Lachey.
The pair, who've been married since July 2011 and welcomed son Camden in September 2012, are going strong — largely due to their mutual trust and respect for one another, according to the star.
"I feel comfortable and completely myself when I'm around him," the 32-year-old told Us, explaining what makes their love work. "I have no secrets and no skeletons in my closet from my husband and I love that … I love the woman I've become with him."
With busy being back at work, the former MTV VJ said it's been fairly easy to balance motherhood with filming demands.
"It's actually a great balance because multi-cam television is the best job schedule, it's kind of like a 9 to 5. I can wake up in the morning with him at 7:30, I can give him his bottle and breakfast, put down and go to work — and I'll still be home to bathe him, sing to him, and put him down at night.," she said. "That's the best. I play a mom and I am one in real life!"
Adding that little Camden is doing "amazing," Vanessa shared that she's been pretty busy planning two important milestone celebrations for her family.
"It's so funny, the same time I'm planning my husband's 40th birthday, I'm planning my son's first birthday! So I've been in planning mode for the past month!" she said, "I am planning a party for my big guy AND my little guy!"
Vanessa's new show, Dads, premieres Sept. 17 on Fox.
