There will be plenty of squabbles between siblings later in life, so why not kick off their relationship as smoothly as possible?

Vanessa Lachey received a few tips from her doctor about how to introduce son Camden to his new baby sister, Brooklyn, before the little one arrived, and now she’s passing the information on to fellow parents. Check out her four ideas below!

1. Don't hold the baby when your little one comes to visit you in the hospital.

2. Have a picture of your firstborn in the room.

3. Give the older sibling a gift from the baby, and vice versa.

4. Ask the older sibling if they want to hold and see the baby.

"You’re not forcing it on them," the actress explained. "And in Camden's choice, he said, 'No, thank you!' And we said, 'Okay!'"
