Zoe Saldana's one multitasking woman! The 36-year-old actress returned to work on Tuesday, April 28, for the first time since giving birth to her twin boys Bowie and Cy in November.
But while she enjoyed the experience of getting back in the career saddle, this mom of two 5-month-old tots is getting creative when it comes to maximizing both the time she gets to spend with her kids, and the time she can commit to work.
The Crossroads actress shared a video via her Facebook page on Wednesday, April 29, showing her killing two birds with one stone during her daily morning workout — shedding her baby weight and amusing her children at the same time!
She also shared an adorable snap of her chatting and smiling at one of her little boys later in the day, via Instagram.
"Improvising is key," the proud new mom wrote on her Facebook page. "The boys are 5 months and they are teething. We are getting creative every day on finding ways to keep them entertained (mothers, we are open for suggestions) so that we can get some work done," she continued.
"Being that I workout (and work) out of the house I'm thinking why not make them apart of some of the things I am doing? Especially exercising," she went on."It may seem distracting but at the end of the day how else are we going to get things done? Plus, babies find us just as amusing as we find them, Thank God for that."
The video shows her two babies cooing happily while their fit mother performs her squat exercises, raising dumbbells above her head, right in front of them.
Later in her post, Saldana reminds weight conscious new moms not to get down heartened when they deviate from their diets, revealing her husband Marco Perego is very good at reminding her that the occasional indulgence isn't the end of the world.
"Mommies, don't beat yourselves if you fall off the wagon and eat like teenagers," the actress wrote to her followers. "Yesterday we took our friend out for sushi and I swear I ate everything AND the kitchen sink. Right before I started my typical routine of self-loathing Marco looked at me and said 'Z, it's okay. Start again tomorrow'. I loved him for that, he reminded me there always tomorrow to make right what you have undone today. I'm also reminded that this is for life and not a temporary fix. So why am I going to add more stress to my life by putting a deadline on my healthy lifestyle."
