Pregnant Ali Fedotowsky Reveals Dream Nursery for Her Son: ‘I Wanted Something Classic’

There’s still so much to do. As her son’s May due date approaches, Ali Fedotowsky needs a car seat, a stroller and, oh, a name. “We cannot come up with one!” the former Bachelorette star, 33, says of the struggle she and her husband, radio host Kevin Manno, 34, face. “I feel like I blinked and this pregnancy flew by.” Thankfully, the mom of Molly, 21 months, has one major task checked off: the nursery. “I like to get things done in advance, so having that finished is huge,” the Ali Luvs blogger tells Us. “I wanted something classic. Yes, it’s a nursery, but I didn’t want it to feel too babyish. It’s something he can grow into.”

The Home Stretch

Fedotowsky is feeling “massively pregnant,” she admits. “This little guy has been measuring about five weeks big every single time I go to the doctor. I’ve been so big for so long that it’s caused physical strain on my body. And, of course, I’m caring for a one-and-a-half-year-old. I’m exhausted!”

The Perfect Creation

Designer Veronica Velencia — “We trusted her completely!” raves The Bachelorette season six lead — designed the modern room, complete with changing tables, poufs, wallpaper and a rug from Wayfair. (“We’re basically furnishing our whole house from the site!”) The shades are by Select Blinds. Monte Design created the glider, a must-have. As she tells Us, “I’m going to be nursing and need somewhere to sit when I feed him in the middle of the night.”

Her Mythical Man

Manno has been going above and beyond to pamper his pregnant wife. “Kevin is what my friends like to call a unicorn,” she praises. “Men like him don’t exist. Because I’ve been so uncomfortable, he’s taken on 90 percent of the parenting. I’m almost embarrassed to admit that. I feel like someone needs to come give him a break!”

Their Priorities

Date nights are few and far between. “To be honest, parenting takes a toll on your relationship,” confesses the TV personality (wearing a Rachel Pally maxi dress) . “Since Molly was born, we have probably been on less than five dates. And by that I mean, his brother comes over, we go to dinner and we’re home by 7 p.m. We love each other and we’re best friends, but we’re in full-on parent mode. After this baby comes, we’re definitely going to make that a priority.”

Novel Idea

Mom notes the Evolur case — the brand also made the crib — holds books from Molly’s own collection. “She has thousands!” explains Fedotowsky. “She is so obsessed with books. Every time her daddy takes her food shopping, he buys her another. He’s like, ‘I can’t help it!’ It was fun to incorporate her things in the room.”

Only Child No More

To prepare Molly for the big change, they’ve been reading her books and teaching her with dolls. “We tell her the baby is going to come out of mommy’s belly,” she says. “At the end of the day, she is only 21 months old, so she doesn’t really get it. But, she hugs and kisses my belly. She’s going to be the best big sister because she’s so loving!”

Done Expanding

Well, maybe. With a girl and a boy, “we’re good to go,” jokes Fedotowsky. “In a perfect fantasy world, it would be great to have a bigger family. Will another child happen? I can’t say. There could be an oops moment, you never know!”

Two Under Two

…Can be daunting, according to the busy mom: “I’m worried about finding time for me. Right now, one percent of my time is for me. I’m either working or I’m with Molly. How am I going to make room for this baby? That’s my fear. But people say two is easier because they keep each other occupied. Whether that’s true, I’ll find out!”

Here Comes the Son

Of course, she cannot wait to meet her little man. “Molly is a daddy’s girl and everyone I talk to says sons are mama’s boys. I’m looking forward to that mother- son bond!” she admits. “I am nervous about how much energy boys have, though. My girlfriends have sons and they’ll come over and be jumping off walls. I hope Molly’s sweetness rubs off on him.”
