So. Many. Scandals. A broad range of celebrities endured scandals in 2015, including Josh Duggar, the Kardashian family, Rosie O'Donnell, Holly Madison, Tom Brady and Giuliana Rancic. Us Weekly takes a look back in the above video at the biggest celebrity scandals of the year, and exactly why these controversial stories dominated headlines. Check out the highlights below and watch the full video above.
Fashion Police Faux Pas
Awards season ended on a sour note for former E! News host Giuliana Rancic, who took a swipe at Disney darling Zendaya Coleman's dreadlocks at the Oscars during a Fashion Police segment. Rancic made fun of Zendaya's hairstyle and said, "I feel like she smells like patchouli oil." The longtime TV personality apologized, and engaged in a feud with her fellow Fashion Police cohosts Kathy Griffin and Kelly Osbourne, who've both since left the show.
Rancic remained with Fashion Police but ultimately stepped down from her role as E! cohost several months after the incident.
Tom Brady and Deflategate
Hot off his 2015 Super Bowl victory, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was slapped with a four-game suspension by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell in May. The suspension was issued after a preliminary investigation revealed that the football star was "at least generally aware" that two Pats staffers had tampered with footballs prior to the AFC Championship game this past January, when the Patriots played the Indianapolis Colts — and ultimately won.
In the interim, Brady not only struggled professionally, but personally. Us Weekly reported in the summer that the handsome athlete and his wife, Gisele Bundchen, dealt with their own issues during the Deflategate scandal.
In September, a judge tossed Brady's suspension, making him eligible to play in the Patriots' season opener.
It was one of the biggest, all-encompassing celebrity feuds of the year. Model Amber Rose started the tiff when she publicly criticized Kylie Jenner during a February interview for dating Tyga. Khloe Kardashian then lashed out via Twitter against Rose, and the feud continued — until Kanye West stepped in.
The rapper made several choice statements about his ex-girlfriend. "She's just soakin' in the moment. If Kim had dated me when I first wanted to be with her, there wouldn't be an Amber Rose," West said during an interview with The Breakfast Club. "It's very hard for a woman to want to be with someone that's with Amber Rose . . . I had to take 30 showers before I got with Kim."
The 19 Kids and Counting star and his mega family faced two big scandals this past year beginning in May. Rumors surfaced in the spring that the eldest Duggar son — Josh, now a father of four — had molested five girls back when he was 14 years old. He later fessed up to his actions, but the situation intensified when it was revealed that two of the victims were his sisters Jessa and Jill Duggar.
In August, Josh was linked to an account on infidelity website Ashley Madison after hackers leaked the information of millions of users. He subsequently released a statement owning up to his actions and apologizing to his family. "I have been the biggest hypocrite ever. While espousing faith and family values, I have secretly over the last several years been viewing pornography on the internet and this became a secret addiction and I became unfaithful to my wife," he said at the time. "I am so ashamed of the double life that I have been living and am grieved for the hurt, pain and disgrace my sin has caused my wife and family, and most of all Jesus and all those who profess faith in Him." He is currently in a faith-based rehab facility in Illinois.
Other names linked to scandals in 2015 include Jared Fogle, Rosie O'Donnell, Holly Madison, Ariana Grande, Scott Disick and Justin Bieber. Find out why these celebrities were involved in controversies this past year in the video above.
