Forever remembered. Alan Thicke, one of TV’s most beloved dads, suddenly died at the age of 69 on Tuesday, December 13, and his former costars and Hollywood friends were quick to mourn the actor and express their shock and grief on social media.
The Growing Pains alum was reportedly playing hockey with his 19-year-old son, Carter, when he died of a heart attack, according to TMZ. “Alan’s sudden passing has been confirmed,” his rep told Us Weekly in a statement, shortly after a source confirmed to Us that Alan’s son, singer Robin Thicke, had rushed to his father’s side. “At present, we have no further details,” Thicke’s rep said.
Thicke’s costars Bob Saget, Lori Loughlin and Candace Cameron Burre, who recently filmed alongside the actor in the Fuller House reboot, took to Twitter and Instagram to pay their respects to the showbiz veteran. While Ellen DeGeneres, Alyssa Milano, Ryan Seacrest, Dane Cook, Demi Lovato, Olivia Munn and more stars also expressed their loss on social media.
