The naked truth about Alec Baldwin's nude scene in his new movie, It's Complicated?
It's not his real booty!
The comedy (out Christmas Day) centers on a divorcee (Meryl Streep) caught in a love triangle with her ex-husband (Baldwin) and a new love (Steve Martin).
In one scene, Baldwin, 51, is forced to strip down — but director Nancy Meyers says he refused to bare his backside.
"He said, 'Mine's beautiful. However, I don't want to do that,'" she tells USA Today, adding that both she and Baldwin approved a butt double. (Incidentally, Baldwin says the excess body hair and paunch are his.)
So how did Streep, 60, manage to stay full clothed?
"Well, the director is a woman, and she wants to protect her leading lady," Baldwin tells USA Today. "And the men are just toys to her. I was like a little Ken doll. A 51-year-old Ken doll."
Says Streep, "Nancy knows, too, what will make women love you. And the fact that you stand there and pat your belly."
Baldwin also is denying reports that he is quitting acting when his 30 Rock contract ends in 2012.
"It's ridiculous. What I wanted to say is I wanted to do other things," he tells USA Today, referring to his recent interview in Men's Journal.
Adds Streep, "He's not quitting acting. He was just telling me what he is doing next. I can't tell you what it is. I'm just saying: He's not quitting."
