Finally funny. Eight years after Alec Baldwin made headlines for calling his daughter Ireland Baldwin a "rude, thoughtless little pig" in a leaked voicemail, the two are now laughing about it.
Ireland, 19, took to Instagram to poke fun at the famed incident, which happened when the model was just 11 years old and caught up in custody issues between the actor and his ex-wife, Kim Basinger. She posted a photo of herself sitting close to her father, looking over his shoulder as he reads from a children's book called If I Were a Pig…
Nodding to the name that the 30 Rock alum, 57, called her, Ireland wrote with a pig nose emoji, "If I Were A Pig… I would be Rude and Thoughtless of course!"
While many were shocked by Alec's harsh words to his daughter, Ireland herself brushed off the insults in an interview with Page Six in 2012. She discussed the voicemail and explained that it was provoked by the fact that she missed a scheduled call with her father.
"The only problem with that voicemail was that people made it out to be a way bigger deal than it was," she told The New York Post at the time. "He's said stuff like that before just because he's frustrated… For me it was like, 'Okay, whatever.' I called him back, I was like, 'Sorry Dad, I didn't have my phone.' That was it."
For his part, Alec seems to have softened a bit in the years since. He is raising two young children with his second wife, Hilaria Baldwin. The two married in June 2012 and went on to welcome Ireland's half-siblings Carmen, 23 months, and Rafael, 1 month.
