Alison Brie and Dave Franco are engaged, his rep confirms to Us Weekly.
The Mad Men actress, 32, who has reportedly been dating Franco since 2012, was showing off her impressive bling at the premiere of Sleeping With Other People on Monday, Aug. 24. Franco popped the question with an Irene Neuwirth-designed rose gold ring set with rose cut and pave diamonds.
And while Brie waited until Monday night to officially reveal her news and debut her stunning ring on the red carpet of her screening, hosted by Smirnoff, a source tells Us that actor Franco was celebrating his happy announcement with friends earlier that night.
Dining at Los Angeles hot spot Sushi Park, Franco, 30, was spotted discussing his big news with some pals. “He ran into some people he knew and they were congratulating him on his engagement,” the source tells Us.
Seems Brie, who played the role of Trudy Campbell in the hit AMC series, has found someone pretty special in Franco, as back in 2012, before they were dating, she told Elle magazine she might not even be the marrying kind!
“I don’t even know if I want to get married,” she told the outlet. “I’ve never been the girl who’s planning my dream wedding — I was always practicing my speech for the Oscars. That was my dream, which is kind of sad but kind of great,” she said.
“Our parents got married because it was expected of them. Even my parents, who are hippies, felt some kind of pressure, I’m sure. I don’t know that I’m the marrying kind,” she continued. “It’s hard to work in an industry that changes from minute to minute and then lock into thinking of something as forever. It’s kind of daunting. Maybe I just haven’t met the right guy yet — that’s the flip side,” she added.
