Amanda Bynes Gets Probation in Plea Deal for DUI Case

Good deal for Amanda Bynes! The 27-year-old actress accepted a plea deal in her DUI case on Monday, Feb. 24, CNN reports.

Bynes' lawyer appeared in court in Los Angeles and entered a no-contest plea to reckless driving. In exchange for the plea, Bynes' DUI charge was dismissed, and she was placed on three-years probation. The former Nickelodeon star must also attend an alcohol education course and pay a fine.

The DUI charge stems from an April 2012 car crash where Bynes' allegedly sideswiped a police car in West Hollywood. The case was delayed after Bynes entered a rehab facility to get treatment for mental illness back in September.

The Easy A actress returned home from treatment to her parents before the holidays, and has since been making progress in her recovery. Bynes' mother, Lynn Bynes, was praised by a judge earlier this morning for fulfilling her duties as conservator of her daughter.
