It’s over for Angie Harmon and Jason Sehorn. The actress and the NFL player have called it quits after more than 15 years together.
Harmon, 42, and Sehorn, 43, confirmed their separation this past weekend after a 13-year marriage. The couple got engaged on live television during an episode of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno in March 2000.
They went on to tie the knot in June 2001, and later welcomed daughters Finley, 11, Avery, 9, and Emery, 5.
“For the sake of their children, they ask for respect and privacy as they navigate this time in their lives,” Harmon’s rep told Us Weekly in a statement.
The Rizzoli & Isles actress has been outspoken about the importance of her family in her life, touching on her desire to balance home life and career. In happier times, she celebrated her and Sehorn’s differences, and the dynamic they create in the family.
“He’s like a steady tugboat, while I bring on the shock waves,” she said in a 2011 interview with Good Housekeeping of her husband. “As time goes on, [I love] the different discoveries you make about each other. You think you know that person inside and out, that you know every single inch of that person, and then you find something new.”
“Communication is a huge, huge thing in marriage,” she added at the time. “And it doesn’t matter if it’s uncomfortable or brings up bad stuff. You really have to have the guts to talk to each other.”
