Anna Duggar is hanging in there. The 19 Kids and Counting star is said to be fighting on despite her husband Josh Duggar’s cheating scandal and current residency in the Reformers Unanimous treatment center in Rockford, Ill.
Amy Duggar, Josh’s cousin, opened up about how “strong” Anna has been during a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight. “[She’s] doing well,” Amy said. “[She’s] taking the time she needs for herself.”
She added: “There is a reason God gives you family. It’s for moments like this. We encourage her as much as we can.”
As previously reported, Josh, 27, checked himself into a long-term rehab facility last month after it was revealed in leaked documents that he had two accounts on the adultery website Ashley Madison. He confessed to cheating, and gave a public apology to his wife. The scandal came months after Duggar confessed to molesting five young girls when he was 14 and 15 years old. Two of the girls included his sisters, Jill and Jessa Duggar.
Josh and Anna tied the knot in 2008 and share four children — Mackynzie, 5, Michael, 4, Marcus, 2, and Meredith, 2 months. Earlier this month, Anna attended Amy and Dillon King’s wedding without Josh.
“Obviously, I want to protect my family right now during this time,” Amy previously told Us Weekly ahead of her nuptials. “I just really think it’s a special time for all of us to be reunited. It’s been a rough couple of weeks, it really has. Last couple of months too so it’s just one of those things where I want them to know that it’s safe to come to my wedding and not be bombarded by media or fans, and just kind of respect that time with each other.”
