Proposal after Juan Pablo! Bachelor alum Nikki Ferrell is engaged to her boyfriend, Tyler Vanloo. The reality star — who split from Bachelor Juan Pablo Galavis last year — announced the news via Instagram on Monday, January 4.
“And on the last day of vacation this happened!” Ferrell, 29, captioned a photo of Vanloo on bended knee. “I can’t wait to marry my best friend. Over the moon happy right now!”

The bride-to-be and Vanloo, 29, are celebrating their engagement at the San Juan National Forest in Pagosa Springs, Colorado.
“A little New Years Eve snowshoeing through the San Juan National Forest w my favorite snow bunny. #winterwonderland #happynewyear,” Ferrell captioned the Instagram photo on December 31.
All bundled up, she joked on Saturday: “A little late afternoon tubing out by the Piedra River Trail. Don’t let that innocent face fool you, he tried to kill me.”
The pediatric nurse won the heart of Galavis — who famously declined to say “I love you” on After the Final Rose — on season 18 of The Bachelor. As Us Weekly exclusively revealed, the pair split after seven months of dating in October 2014. (Ferrell did gain a BFF in fellow contestant Andi Dorfman, though.)
Ferrell opened up about the messy breakup and their appearance on VH1’s Couples Therapy last January. “It’s not from a lack of trying on either side. I tried really hard, and he tried too,” she told Bachelor host Chris Harrison during a red carpet special before Season 19. “I’m not a quitter. I tried everything, he tried, too. It wasn’t just a one-side thing … we real-life tried, not TV-tried.”
She added: “He lives in Miami and he’s in the entertainment industry, and that’s his job and his lifestyle. It was really hard for me to fit into that. At the end of the day we gave it a go but we’re just two different people.”
