Beck is one class act!
Despite Kanye West storming the stage to protest against his 2015 Grammys win, and then throwing major shade by dissing his artistry, Beck isn't holding any grudges.
The "Heart Is a Drum" singer beat out Beyonce for Album of the Year at the Grammy Awards on Sunday, Feb. 8, and as he took to the stage to receive his award, West made his way up there too.
While the audience initially assumed West's protest was a joke, as he smiled and returned to his seat without saying anything (unlike his 2009 VMAs protest against Taylor Swift's win), the "Only One" singer didn't mince his words during E!'s after show, declaring Beck should hand his award over to Queen Bey.
"I just know that the Grammys, if they want real artists to keep coming back, they need to stop playing with us," he told E! "We ain't gonna play with them no more. And Beck needs to respect artistry and he should've given his award to Beyonce."
Seems respect is one thing Beck isn't lacking, however. Talking to Us Weekly at the Universal Music Group afterparty, the 44-year-old singer was full of admiration for the acts he beat in the group, and wasn't even mad at West for trying to ruin his big night.
"I was just so excited he was coming up. He deserves to be on stage as much as anybody," Beck said when asked how he felt about West crashing the stage. "How many great records has he put out in the last five years right?"
Even though he said Beyonce should have won? "Absolutely," replied the humble musician. "I thought she was going to win. Come on, she's Beyonce!"
And what about his diss that Beyonce is true artistry, and you're not? "You can't please everybody, man," he replied. "I still love him and think he's genius. I aspire to do what he does."
Tell Us: What do you think of Beck's reaction? Should he be mad at Kanye?
