Cat got her tongue?
Bellamy Young revealed to Us Weekly on Tuesday, March 15, that she didn’t tell her boyfriend how many pets she had until their third date. “One cat stayed hidden, so the third cat was a surprise,” the 46-year-old actress, who is dating The Mindy Project star Ed Weeks, told Us at PaleyFest’s Scandal panel at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. “I was like, ‘You haven’t met Max.’ And he was like, ‘Oh, right … Max.’ And I was like, ‘No really, there is a Max!’”
The animal adoption advocate shares her home with cats Sadie, Button and Max as well as a rescue dog she named The Bean. Her boyfriend, however, isn’t spooked by all the pets. “It happened to work out well for me,” she said. “My sweetheart is great with all of my animals.”
At the event, Young also told Us she doesn’t see her Scandal character, U.S. Senator Mellie Grant, reconciling with her ex-husband, President Fitzgerald Grant (Tony Goldwyn). “I think there was a time where that is all that Mellie wanted,” Young said. “She wanted the Oval [Office], she wanted to open their Presidential Library together, and all that sort of thing, and now I think, 'Oh, hell no!’”
