Your Snapchat story is going to be lit this July 4 weekend — all thanks to the ladies of The Real Housewives of New Jersey!
In honor of Independence Day, Bravo is launching a collection of RHONJ-inspired Snapchat filters featuring cartoon caricatures of show stars Teresa Giudice, Melissa Gorga and Jacqueline Laurita — and Us Weekly has an exclusive first look.
Two of the filters — starring Franklin Lakes’ resident table-flipper Giudice — were made available to Us’ NYC offices one day before they are officially released at various times starting Friday, July 1.
One of the filters plays on this year’s presidential election, showing Tre’s avatar holding up a “Teresa for President” sign. The other has a festive Fourth of July theme and shows the Bravolebrity posing in front of a fireworks display. “Let the fireworks begin!” a thought bubble reads above her head.
In more than 60 other equally fun filters, animated versions of the ‘wives pay tribute to America’s most beloved cities in typical Jersey fashion. Take a look at a sampling of the best below.
Fire Island Pines, New York: Dressed in a little black dress and a hot pink feather boa, Giudice waves a rainbow flag in support of the island’s LGBT community.
Coney Island, Brooklyn, New York: Holding one of Coney Island’s famous Nathan’s hot dogs, Laurita boasts, “Going for the record!”
Arizona: While no Housewives appear in the main part of this filter, a sunglasses-wearing cactus makes a slight dig at the RHONJ crew and brags about the benefit of Arizona’s powerful sun: “Better than a spray tan!”
Mount Rushmore, South Dakota: Replacing the faces of our founding fathers, Giudice, Gorga and Laurita’s gorgeous mugs are now carved into the famous landmark in this funny filter.
Louisiana: With Mardi Gras beads hanging from her neck, Laurita stands tall in the Big Easy, asking, “Who dat?”
Hawaii: Giudice hangs ten as she rides the waves of Hawaii in a hula skirt.
Missouri: Paying homage to Bravo head honcho Andy Cohen’s home state (and favorite baseball team), Giudice wears a St. Louis Cardinals hat as she shouts, “Go Cards!”
Venice Beach, Los Angeles: Giudice’s face appears behind a cardboard cutout of a brawny bodybuilder.
San Diego: Filling in for Ron Burgundy, Gorga takes over the fictional newscaster’s desk in Southern California.
