Popcorn anyone? Britney Spears recalled a cringeworthy first date to the movies to Marie Claire UK for its October 2016 cover story.
“I had a really bad date. I mean, it was really bad,” she told the mag. “I’ve been single for ages and had a date with a guy I liked. I was getting anxious, worrying he wouldn’t like me. We went to the movies, but I could tell right away it wasn’t working. It was sort of awkward.”
The “Invitation” singer added that she could tell their chemistry just wasn’t adding up.
“After the movie I came home and that was it. It just didn’t work,” she recounted. “He just wasn’t that into me. I liked him. He knew that. But he definitely didn’t feel the same. It happens to everybody. Being famous doesn’t make you any different.”
In fact, the “Just Luv Me” singer has given up on dating for the moment.
During her appearance on The Late Late Show’s Carpool Karaoke, Spears admitted that she doesn’t see herself ever saying “I do” again.
“I’m done with men,” she told host James Corden. “I don’t believe in marriage anymore.”
Spears was last linked to Charlie Ebersol. The two split after less than a year of dating in June 2015. She was engaged to CAA agent Jason Trawick for two years; they split in January 2013. She was previously married to Jason Alexander (for 55 hours in 2004) and Kevin Federline, with whom she shares sons Sean Preston, 10, and Jayden James, 9.
