In this case, do not apologize! After the upcoming bombshell on The Bachelorette was revealed this week, “Brokeback Bachelor” Clint Arlis tweeted about the shocking twist — and his love affair with fellow contestant JJ Lane.
“Whoops,” Clint wrote alongside E!’s link of the promo. “Sorry, dad? #brokebackbachelor.”
A fan, meanwhile, found issue with Clint’s joking apology. “Homosexuality is not something to apologize for,” the fan sniped. “If your are not gay watch what you say okay?”
The Chicago-based architectural engineer, 27, came up with some cheeky responses of his own.
@sweetharturbald 10-4. But I actually was apologizing to him for stealing his vest out of his closet w/o asking. Okay?

@sweetharturbald So you’re insinuating you know my dad better than me? DO YOU KNOW MY DAD OR NOT? @jjhlane

The preview showed Clint professing his love for JJ in the confessional. “Falling in love with a man never crossed my mind,” he says in the promo, admitting that he and the former investment banker, 32, “have grown very close to each other in the shower.”
JJ also addressed the promo on Wednesday, May 27, tagging Clint in an Instagram post. “The Maroon Bells / Aspen just isn’t the same without Clint,” he wrote. “#BrokebackBachelor #MissYouClint #Aspen #FormerInvestmentBanker @tanner_tolbert.”
Before the season aired, JJ hinted about his story arc via Instagram. “Apologies in advance for bringing shame and embarrassment to my friends and family,” the Denver-based father of one wrote in early May. Like Clint, he also preemptively apologized in that post. “…Sorry mom!”
