Brooke Hogan is paying tribute to her late father, Hulk Hogan, while at the beach.
“Needed some time with my thoughts, my daddy and the ocean he loved so much,” Brooke, 38, wrote via Instagram on Wednesday, May 20. “Every wave hit my heart like a memory that felt like it was yesterday. The waves carried the bass in his voice, the salt water felt like his hugs. The smell of the ocean smelled like so many days on the boat we spent together.”
She continued, “I remember him whisking me across the surf like King Triton holding his Little Mermaid… if I could breathe underwater, I’d spend forever under the sea if it meant being that much closer to him. The tears were endless today. 🌊.”
Alongside the message, Brooke shared a sun-kissed bikini photo and throwback images of Hulk. In one pic, Hulk smiled as he raised his hand while driving a boat.
News broke in July 2025 that Hulk died of a heart attack. He was 71. Medical documents obtained by Us Weekly at the time revealed that Hulk had a history of Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL).
Hulk, who was estranged from Brooke before his death, left his daughter out of the will. (Hulk welcomed Brooke with ex-wife Linda Hogan, whom he wed in 1983. The couple, who also shared Nick Hogan, divorced in 2009. He was later married to Jennifer McDaniel from 2010 to 2022 before tying the knot with Sky Daily in 2023.)
“His decision is no surprise to me,” Brooke told TMZ in September 2025. “It’s what I asked for, I stand by it with no regrets. My dad knows I’m a hard worker and I have been surviving without his money for a long, long time.”
Brooke has since released a song called “Wanna Go Back” about Hulk, which has received criticism from fans suggesting she’s cashing in on his legacy as a wrestling icon given their estrangement. She addressed the song’s haters via Instagram, replying to one person who said in the comments section in December 2025, “So u haven’t talked to him in years but unfortunately when he passes away u wanna do tributes I mean that’s sad stuff.”
Brooke replied, “Sometimes when people pass you find out things that hurt even more. That’s what this song is about.”
Brooke’s husband, former professional ice hockey player Steven Olesky, sang her praises on social media. (Brooke and Olesky exchanged vows in 2022 and welcomed twins, Oliver and Molly, in 2025.)
“This song is so deep,” Oleksy wrote via his Instagram Story at the time. “I am so blessed to call you my wife. Your strength could never be measured. I love you!”
