Tears of joy! Carey Mulligan attended the 2013 Grammy Awards on Sunday, Feb. 10 at L.A.’s Staples Center to support husband Marcus Mumford and his band Mumford & Sons — and was overcome with pride.
When the English folk rock band took home the coveted Album of the Year award for Babel, Mulligan couldn’t hide her excitement. The 27-year-old Great Gatsby star gave her man a huge hug before he made his way to the stage. During Mumfords’ acceptance speech, the cameras caught Mulligan appearing to wipe away a tear while cheering loudly.
“We figured we weren’t going to win anything because The Black Keys have been sweeping up all day, and deservedly so,” the lead singer said onstage.
The British actress and Mumford, 26, tied the knot on April 21, 2012 after becoming engaged in August 2011. “They’re a great couple,” a pal has told Us Weekly of the duo who were childhood pen pals in London. “Very sweet.”
