Alex Fine made a rare comment about his family and marriage to wife Cassie.
“She’s super supportive,” the MobLand actor, 33, said of how Cassie, 40, reacted when he got the role on the crime drama during a Thursday, October 8 interview with Capital XTRA. “She understood that this is a very special project. Also we became fans watching the first season.”
Fine added that taking the role was an easy decision since the project films in London which made things easier for their family. (Cassie, whose real name is Casandra Ventura, and Fine moved outside of the United States with their daughters, Frankie and Sunny, as well as their son, whose name has not been publicly shared, in 2025.)
“For MobLand it was easier because it is in London, more of a central hub. [My] job before was a year in New Mexico because it happened during a SAG strike so I kept getting delayed,” he recalled. “That call was, ‘Hey this is Guy Ritchie, this is Tom Hardy, this is Pierce Brosnan, this is Helen Mirren.’ There’s no ifs, ands or buts.”
While the “Me & U” singer is also an experienced actress, Fine admitted that he doesn’t see him and his wife sharing the screen any time in the future.
“I would say no, just in the fact that one of us needs to be with the kids,” he explained. “But if we did, I feel like Bonnie and Clyde would be sick.”
Fine added that Cassie and their kids do visit him on set while he’s working.
“I bring them to every set to see what I’m doing. They don’t think it’s really cool yet … they will soon,” he said. “They got to meet everyone from Tom Hanks to Billy Bob Thorton to Tom Hardy to Helen Mirren and all of them. And they’re like, ‘Well can you do the Bluey movie?’ Like, they don’t think this is cool.”
One thing about Fine’s job that does impress his daughters is the hair and makeup trailer.
“My two daughters, they love the makeup trailer and looking at the hair and makeup and scars you put on,” he shared. “I’ll bring them in and then I found out when I was picking them up from school one time, one of the dads was like, ‘What do you do for work?’ I was like, ‘I’m acting on this show.’ And he was like, ‘Oh all right … my daughter said that Sunny told her that her dad puts on makeup every day for work … and I was curious what you do.’”
Looking back on the interaction, Fine laughed at the moment and admitted that his daughter was “technically” right.
Fine and Cassie tied the knot in 2019. Before she found The One with Fine, Cassie was in an on-and-off relationship with Sean “Diddy” Combs. Cassie later accused the disgraced music mogul, 56, of abuse and testified against him, while she was pregnant, during his trial.
Combs was arrested in September 2024 and charged with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution. While Combs has denied all the allegations against him, he was ultimately found guilty of transportation for prostitution. Combs was acquitted of the more severe charges and sentenced to four years in federal prison. In October 2026, his release date was pushed back from January 2028 to March 2028, per updated Federal Bureau of Prisons records viewed by Us. His legal team has attempted to appeal the conviction.
Since the trial, Cassie and Fine have been staying out of the spotlight. The couple made a rare appearance last month at the London premiere for MobLand season 2.
