Her plea. Former porn star Bree Olson is begging young women to avoid the adult film industry, citing her own personal experiences as a warning.

Olson, 29, opened up about her shame in a sit-down confessional for digital series, Real Women Real Stories, and her confession has gone viral. In the clip, Charlie Sheen‘s ex (known as one of his “goddesses” during his 2011 meltdown) discusses her difficulty in finding regular work and her fear of going out in public due to backlash.

“When I go out, I feel as if I’m wearing ‘slut’ across my forehead,” Olson says in the emotional sit-down, which was filmed and recorded in 2015 while she still lived in L.A. “I have really gotten to the point where there are days to weeks at a time where I don’t leave the house because I don’t feel like facing the world. People treat me as if I am a pedophile. They don’t treat me like an ex-sex worker. They treat me like I would somehow be damaging to children.”

She then breaks down when she’s asked how she would like to be regarded. “I wish that people would treat me like they would treat a married registered nurse with 2.5 kids in Indiana. That’s how I wish people would treat me,” Olson replies in the video. “I would be so happy. I never even thought about that before, but it will never happen. That’s probably why I don’t think about it.”

Olson added a word of caution to young women looking to enter the industry. “I send a very strong message to young girls: Don’t do porn,” she says. “You’re just going to have a life of crap in front of you in dealing with people, companies … These are things that teenage girls don’t think about,” she said. “There’s nothing wrong with porn, but how people treat you for the rest of your life, it’s not worth it.”

After the video’s release, Olson opened up to CNN about her decision to leave the business in 2011, and start over entirely. The former adult film star has now moved from L.A. to a small town in Indiana, where she lives with her girlfriend. She also claims that “Bree Olson” is not her real name, and she never wants to bring kids of her own into the world after enduring the business.

“I’ll never put a child through this,” Olson told the network. “Even with the best private education and great parenting, the parents will talk and the children will hear and my child would be ostracized.”

She’s now working on rebuilding her life, too. “I’d love to go back to college and work for some amazing company, be it health care, children, some other type of firm, and I’d work my way right to the top,” she reflected to CNN. “But I am hit with harsh realities constantly … People say, ‘Change your hair color, move to another state.’ Ha! People know me by voice alone. I can’t run. I can’t hide. I have to face this. Anonymity is something I’ll never know. Even with all the surgeries, relocating, years of school, all it takes is one person to blow everything.”
