UPDATE: Sources confirm to Us Weekly that Sheen is HIV-positive and plans to address his health during his interview.
Original Story: On Monday, Nov. 16, NBC announced that Charlie Sheen would be making “a revealing personal announcement” to Matt Lauer on the Today show during Tuesday’s episode. Following this news, several sites, including TMZ and RadarOnline, alleged that Sheen is HIV-positive and plans to address his health during his interview.
Some of the reports claim that the Two and a Half Men alum, 50, has been keeping his diagnosis a secret for years.
Sheen has not addressed the rumors on his social media accounts. Us Weekly has reached out to the actor's rep for comment.
It’s been a tough couple of years for Sheen, who was fired from his hit CBS show in 2011 after previously having been the highest paid actor on television. He went on to have a public breakdown in which he gave an almost incoherent interview to ABC’s 20/20, coining his now-signature phrase “winning.”
The Golden Globe winner was married to Donna Peele from 1995 to 1996, then to Denise Richards from 2002 to 2006, and finally to Brooke Mueller from 2008 until 2011. He is the father of daughter Cassandra, 30, with ex-girlfriend Paula Profit, daughters Sam, 11, and Lola, 10, with Richards, and twins Bob and Max, 6, with Mueller.
