Darrell Sheets’ girlfriend is recalling the last day she spent with the Storage Wars star before his death by suicide.
In a police report obtained by Us Weekly, Sheets’ girlfriend — whose name was redacted from the documents — recalled starting their day working at his shop before finishing around 4:00 p.m. local time.
Sheets then went to an appointment with a redacted individual, with his girlfriend sharing that she does not know how the appointment went. When he returned, the girlfriend and Sheets had dinner together before he went to the garage and was on his phone.
His girlfriend recalled Sheets receiving a text message from his daughter-in-law, who she claimed sent “messages slandering her” — including saying things “like she was suspicious and that she was stealing money from Darrell.” Sheets’ girlfriend shared that the Storage Wars star seemed “sad and upset” over the messages.
After his girlfriend picked up Sheets’ granddaughter from work around 8:00 p.m. local time, she returned back home to find the reality star laying in bed. Sheets’ girlfriend and his granddaughter then enjoyed a drink together, with the girlfriend receiving a message from Sheets to come sleep with him.
While they were laying together, Sheets’ girlfriend shared that he got up from the bed because he could not sleep. His girlfriend later got out of the bed and saw him standing in his office and called out to him. After entering the office, he told her “something along the lines of ‘go back to bed.’” She later called 911.
Elsewhere in the report, Sheets’ girlfriend explained that his son — who allegedly “hated her” — was recently visiting with the reality star’s daughter-in-law. Sheets and his son allegedly “got into arguments” while there and the reality star had been “devastated” since his son left and “sad as hell.”
When authorities spoke to Sheets’ son via phone, he seemingly told them that he does not want the girlfriend at the residence and “would like her trespassed.” The officer explained that the woman had been living at the residence so the son would have to “have her evicted or she would have to leave voluntarily.” His son allegedly understood and said he would “go through the eviction process unless he could convince her to leave voluntarily.” (Sheets’ girlfriend was not named in this paragraph. Us reached out to Sheets’ son for comment.)
News broke in April that Sheets died. He was 67. “We are saddened by the passing of a beloved member of our Storage Wars family, Darrell ‘The Gambler’ Sheets,” a spokesperson for A&E told Us in a statement at the time. “Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.”
