He speaks. After announcing his divorce from Yolanda Foster several weeks ago, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills husband David Foster broke his silence on Tuesday, December 22, by releasing a new statement to Us Weekly.
“Over the past few weeks, a great deal of inaccurate or baseless information has been reported claiming to represent my thoughts and feelings,” the Grammy-winning music producer, 66, told Us. “It is painful to watch this happen repeatedly — especially while trying to cope with the personal nature of the challenges surrounding the breakup of our loving marriage.”
He added that there was no question in his mind that his ex, 51, is battling Lyme disease. “I have always had and continue to have the utmost respect and love for Yolanda, which is why it is so frustrating to see headlines questioning her chronic debilitating illness,” he noted. “I have been by Yolanda’s side over the past four years to the best of my ability as she battled with the complexities of her Lyme diagnosis.”

In fact, he applauded the Dutch model’s conduct throughout her illness after she was diagnosed in 2012, a year after they wed. “I am incredibly proud of Yolanda’s determination and mission to find a cure, and how brave and open she has been by sharing her story in the hopes of changing the future for others,” he said.
The couple announced to Us Weekly on December 1 that they were divorcing after four years of marriage. “We are grateful for the years we’ve spent together and believe wholeheartedly that we did our best,” they told Us in a joint statement. “I hope that we can pave the road ahead of us with all we’ve learned and with the love and respect we will always have for one another.”

Sources attributed the split to several factors, telling Us that Yolanda’s tireless battle against Lyme disease and her husband’s hectic schedule both contributed to the demise of their marriage. “David is always off traveling the world for work and Yolanda’s entire life has become her bedroom,” one source explained to Us at the time. “She has basically been sick since they first got married. It definitely took a huge toll on the marriage.”
Meanwhile, Yolanda posted about “new beginnings” on Monday, December 21. Sharing a pic of a fiery, beautiful sunset from her new apartment, the RHOBH star wrote on Instagram: “Sometimes what you are most afraid of doing is the very thing that will set you free…….. #WindowsToMyWorld #Home #NewBeginnings.”
