A 21-year-old man was found dead in the swimming pool at Demi Moore's Beverly Hills home on Oak Pass Road on Saturday, July 18, the LAPD confirms to Us Weekly.
"I am in absolute shock. I was out of the country traveling to meet my daughters for a birthday celebration when I got the devastating news," the actress told Us in a statement. "The loss of a child is an unthinkable tragedy and my heart goes out to this young mans family and friends. I ask that you please respect the privacy of all concerned during this sensitive time."
None of Moore's family, including her three daughters were home at the time of the incident. But a neighbor told TMZ that the family has been hosting numerous "parties every day, day and night." The police told Us that a maid was present in the morning and that there were five people in the house at the time of the incident. The information they have suggests there was not a big party there that night.
The police tell Us they believe the man slipped into the pool overnight and was found in the morning. The identity of the body has not been released, and the police would not confirm whether or not Moore had been notified.
A source tells Us Weekly that Rumer Willis is currently in New York, while her younger sisters Tallulah and Scout Willis have been Instagramming photos from France.
The story is still developing. Stay tuned to Us Weekly for follow-ups.
