It’s over — again. Dennis Quaid‘s wife, Kimberly Quaid, has filed for divorce for the second time, TMZ reports. The mom of two signed court documents in L.A. on Tuesday, June 28.
“After careful consideration, we have decided to end our 12-year marriage. The decision was made amicably and with mutual respect toward one another,” the estranged couple told TMZ in a statement.
The actor, 62, added: “We will always remain great friends and devoted partners in raising our children.”
Dennis and Kimberly tied the knot in July 2004 and welcomed twins Thomas and Zoe, now 8, in 2007 at Cedars-Sinai hospital in L.A. (At the time, their children were given a near fatal accidental overdose of blood thinner.) Kimberly first filed for divorce in March 2012, but she and the Fortitude star later reconciled.
Dennis, the younger brother of fellow actor Randy Quaid, was previously married to actress P.J. Soles from 1978 to 1983 and to Meg Ryan from 1991 to 2001. Quaid and Ryan met while filming 1987’s action thriller Innerspace and are parents of 24-year-old actor Jack Quaid.
Dennis opened up about his split from Ryan, 54, during an interview with W magazine in 2001. “Meg and I still talk. Almost every day. Our relationship is good. We were together for 13 years, we have a child together. She knows me like nobody else,” he said at the time. “Meg and I are always going to be together — we’ll always be connected. That’s just the way it is. If anything, we can be fuller people. Maybe we’ve become more of ourselves.”
