Love on set! Disney stars Dove Cameron and Ryan McCartan are happily engaged. The couple announced the news on their social media accounts on Thursday, April 14.
“Dedicating my 1,000th post to my fiancée. I can’t believe I get to call you that. Thanks for saying yes,” McCartan, 22, captioned a red carpet photo of the couple.
Cameron, 20, similarly gushed over the next step in their relationship. “calling you my ‘boyfriend’ never really felt right anyway. fiancée looks better on you,” she captioned a beach selfie via Instagram.
Cameron and McCartan first met while filming the Disney sitcom Liv & Maddie in 2013. The actors played a couple on the series, which is currently in its fourth season. (Cameron stars as the title character Liv; McCartan exited the show in 2015.) Last year, they costarred in the TV movie R.L. Stine’s Monsterville: The Cabinet of Souls.
The engaged pair also collaborate musically. Cameron and McCartan make up the musical duo The Girl and the Dreamcatcher. They have posted several covers on their YouTube channel, and released the song “Someone You Like” last year.
