Drake — the former Degrassi actor turned multiplatinum rapper — has never had trouble with the ladies.
In fact, the “Make Me Proud” hitmaker used to be quite promiscuous. “There’s a time where it was like, just getting p-ssy. Where I was in that sort of [mindset where I thought], ‘I’m young. I’m going to disconnect from my emotions and just do what everyone else tells me I should do and just a be a rapper and have my fun,'” the hip-hop star, 25, tells GQ‘s special April Style Bible issue.
“And for me as a person, it just doesn’t work [anymore],” explains the rapper, once linked to Rihanna and labelmate Nicki Minaj. “The seconds after a man reaches climax, that’s the realest moment of your life. If I don’t want you next to me in that 15, 20 seconds, then there’s something wrong.”
Calling himself “mischievous but calculated,” Drake says he doesn’t feel pressured to be like his peers.
“Rap now is just being young and fly and having your sh-t together,” he tells GQ‘s Style Bible. “The mood of rap has changed.”
