Beginning again! After years of breakups and broken hearts, Taylor Swift is eyeing love again in her new relationship with Calvin Harris — and bestie Ed Sheeran is on board!
A longtime pal and collaborator to Swift, Sheeran weighed in on the star’s budding romance with Harris, her first in more than two years. Speaking to iHeartRadio’s ZM station, the “Lego House” singer, 24, was asked his opinion of the 31-year-old DJ and whether he’s a good match for Swift, 25.
“He’s cool,” Sheeran said of Harris, shooting down speculation that he would be protective of his friend against the multi-millionaire producer. “He’s a really nice guy, yeah, really, really nice guy.”
The Grammy-nominated performer, who has been friends with Swift for years and worked with her on the single “Everything Has Changed,” continued to praise Harris while staying mostly tight-lipped on the status of the two stars’ romance.
Asked whether he gives the relationship his seal of approval, Sheeran added, “Yeah. Well, I’d give… Yeah, I’d give the seal of approval with… You know, certain people are just nice people in the industry. So yeah, he’s… yeah, good guy. Really, really good guy.”
As Us Weekly revealed, the two musicians were first spotted together last month. Following splits from such big-name stars as John Mayer, Harry Styles, and Jake Gyllenhaal — with chart-topping songs chronicling those relationships — Swift spent time with Harris in Nashville in March, and jetted off to Los Angeles with him just a few weeks later.
“They are just having so much fun together and really enjoying each other,” an insider told Us of the twosome. “They are both wildly successful and creative and music lovers. It works on so many levels… It’s fun and not heavy. [They’re] not thinking about marriage or anything yet. It’s just having fun and seeing where it goes.”
