As predicted, Bachelorette Emily Maynard is taking the high road.

The 26-year-old single mom appeared on Access Hollywood Live Wednesday, where she responded to ex Brad Womack's recent comments that he "dodged a bullet" when their engagement ended.

"I haven't heard from him since filming started. . . but I don't know," Maynard told hosts Billy Bush, 40, and Kit Hoover, 41. "At first, my feelings were really hurt, because we left everything very civil and I've never said a bad word about him. But knowing Brad, he didn't mean it that way. That's what I'm going to say."

Earlier this month, Texas bar owner Womack, 38, said he had "no interest" in watching his ex-fiancee court 25 suitors on ABC's The Bachelorette. "All I'll say is she is a helluva woman and I hope it works out."

And so far, it is. Maynard has already sent nine men home, including home marketing manager Randy Lee Woyak, 30, real estate consultant Lerone Anu, 29, marine biologist Jean-Paul LaCount, 35, fitness model Jackson Longnecker, 29, singer/songwriter David Hornyk, 33, technology salesman Brent Richter, 41, field energy adviser Joe Gendreau, 27, financial adviser Kyle Dillon, 29, and biology teacher Aaron Martell, 36.

The Bachelorette airs Mondays at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
