Still firmly on cloud nine! Eva Longoria couldn’t hide her happiness as she spoke about her recent, amazing, tequila-fueled wedding — and even hinted that she and José (Pepe) Antonio Bastón might have babies on their mind!
The Desperate Housewives alum, 41, walked her first red carpet as a newlywed on Wednesday, June 1, when she attended the L.A. Film Festival opening night to see the world premiere of Lowriders.
And, sporting new shorter, blonder hair, the actress, who was jet-lagged having just flown in from her honeymoon “on the other side of the world,” was happy to talk about her recent nuptials, revealing how she and Victoria Beckham managed to keep her dress plans a secret, and how much alcohol was consumed in Mexico!
“There were so many memorable moments,” she told reporters, including Us Weekly. “The tequila kind of blurred it all! But [Pepe] surprised me throughout the night: a surprise singer, a surprise video, every half hour there was another surprise. I was like, ‘I can’t handle any more! My heart is going to explode!’ My cheeks hurt from laughing and smiling so much,” she added.
One highlight was getting to wear her pal Beckham’s creations, and Longoria particularly loved changing dresses mid-reception.
“That was fun,” Longoria revealed. “[She] unzipped my dress, took it off, put on the next dress. She was like ‘Let’s go!’ She was amazing. She was a true bridesmaid!”
Longoria revealed the pair had tried hard to make sure nobody knew the former Spice Girl was designing her outfit before the event.
“I went to London and I asked her to design my dress, and she was like ‘Oh my God, that’s awesome. I don’t do wedding dresses.’ I said I didn’t want a wedding dress. It wasn’t my first rodeo, and I just wanted something sweet and simple and elegant, and no better person to do it than Victoria.”
“So I went to London a couple times for fittings and we went over fabric and styles,” she continued. “It was a really fun experience. I’m surprised nobody found out because I was always in London. I kept flying to London to do it and I was like, no one knows we’re here, right?”
Another secret Longoria’s trying to keep is one about future baby plans. But despite remaining fairly tight lipped, the excited actress did have something to say on the matter.
“We have a family,” Longoria responded when she was asked if babies were on the horizon. “Three kids [Bastón has Natalia, Mariana and Jose from a previous relationship], so we’re just continuing with our family we have now and waiting.”
Waiting to see if any babies will come?
“We’ll see,” she added coyly.
