Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade told Us Weekly how they were planning on celebrating their first wedding anniversary together, and the NBA superstar said he had some surprises up his sleeve.

Sweet summertime! Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade will celebrate their first wedding anniversary together on Sunday, Aug. 30, and the NBA superstar revealed to Us Weekly that he had some surprises up his sleeve for his wife.

"It went so fast. We just got our wedding video," Union, 42, said of their first year of marriage.

"Like literally a couple of days ago. It went so fast," Wade added at the Samsung Celebrates Galaxy S6 Edge + Galaxy Note 5 event at The Lot in West Hollywood last Wednesday. "The NBA season, her work schedule with Being Mary Jane. It’s all so fast and then here you go and we’re at a year already. But it’s been a great year. We’re looking forward to celebrating that day and moving forward."

Wade, 33, added that his wife didn't "know yet" what they were doing for their anniversary. "He won’t tell me," a grinning Union adorably complained to Us. "It’s a surprise vacation and I won’t find out until I get to the airport."

Her husband did give the Bring It On actress some hints. "I mean, our wedding was so spectacular, and this has been a great year, so I've keep some kind of element of surprise for this one right here," he told Us. "All is good in her book. So I've gotta keep a little element of surprise… I said 'Bring nothing. The less the better.'"

The Miami Heat star, who had already packed for the trip when he spoke to Us, noted that it was their last trip together before a busy NBA season ahead. "We’re taking off around the time of our anniversary. So, we’ll make sure that we’re celebrating that time together before I get back into really going full speed ahead into training camp at the end of next month. We’ll take one more trip together."

Union and Wade married in Miami at the gorgeous Chateau Artisan castle on Aug. 30, 2014, in a black-and-white themed wedding. After one year of wedded bliss, meanwhile, marriage is "good. It’s easy. I mean knock on wood," Union told Us. "I guess it’s the bonus out of marrying your best friend. We really legit enjoy hanging out with each other. A lot!"

Wade also said they're blessed with solid friendships and everyday examples. "We try to hang around people that have great marriages that like each other, that love being around each other," the pro basketball player told Us. "You put yourself in that kind of environment and then success will happen. So we make sure we put ourselves around our friends and they want the best for us."
