Gail Simmons cooked up something sweet just in time for the new year!
The "Top Chef" judge, 37, and her husband, Jeremy Abrams, welcomed their first child, a little girl named Dahlia Rae Abrams, on Dec. 29, her rep confirmed to omg!.
"Dahlia weighed in at 7 pounds, 3 ounces," added the rep. "Mother, father and baby are doing wonderfully."
Simmons and Abrams married in New York City in 2008 and announced last July that they were expecting their first child this winter.
The "Talking With My Mouth Full" author dished to omg! in October that she and her hubby picked out both boys and girls names and didn't want to know the gender of their baby ahead of time. "I want it to be a surprise. There are few things in life that are as exciting."
Although she joked that, boy or girl, she hoped her child would be a strong eater! "God willing this baby will eat everything. I hope that this kid is a good eater."
The brunette food critic also revealed that she'll be stepping back from work for a bit to enjoy being a new mom. "I will take off some time to have my baby, relax, and enjoy that. And we'll think about the next season several months down the road."
