Claude Lemieux’s only daughter, Claudia Lemieux, is making headlines for her surprising connection to It Ends With Us author Colleen Hoover following the NHL legend’s death.
Us Weekly confirmed in May 2026 that Claude died by suicide at age 60. A Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson told Us that the hockey star was found dead inside the Andros Home showroom on the 200 block of North Congress Avenue in Lake Park, Florida, at 3:23 a.m on May 28, 2026.
“The business was secured for evidence preservation/investigation by VCD Homicide,” the statement read. “The victim is believed to be Claude Lemieux.”
Claude is survived by his second wife, Deborah, along with his four kids. Claude shared sons Michael and Christopher with his first wife. He and Deborah welcomed son Brendan and daughter Claudia with Deborah.

“No words to express the level of devastation that we feel,” she captioned an Instagram Story post, sharing the New Jersey Devils’ tribute to her dad. “I love you forever daddy. Forever your only girl.”

Claudia is Hoover’s executive assistant, according to LinkedIn. Due to her working relationship with the author, Claudia also had a brief cameo in the 2024 movie It Ends With Us, based on Hoover’s bestselling book of the same name.
