And the Husband of the Year award goes to … Hugh Jackman! The Eddie the Eagle actor revealed one of his life mottos in an interview on Wednesday, March 30 — and it has a lot to do with his wife, actress Deborra-Lee Furness.
The Pan star, 47, shared two slogans he likes to live by with the Australian morning show Sunrise.
"'Have a go,'" Jackman said. "The other one, the most important one, is drummed into me every day. 'Happy wife, happy life.' That's the slogan. We're about to celebrate our 20th [anniversary]."
Jackman and Furness, 60, met on the set of the TV show Correlli in 1995 and married the following year. "I decided, I won't ask her to marry me for six months," he told Town & Country magazine in September 2013. "Then after four months, I thought, that's the most ridiculous rule."
"From day one, we were best mates. We just clicked. We were giggling and laughing — we just connected," he added to Good Housekeeping that July. "She has two speeds: Stop and Go. She is always, 'Let's do this, let's do that.' And she is very funny, very quick."
Jackman has stuck to his life motto ever since. How so? He keeps Furness, um, "happy" in the bedroom by sometimes wearing his Wolverine costume. "The sheets we go through," he told The Sun in a joint 2013 interview.
Furness quipped: "Oh, my God, it’s dreadful! Always with the claws. I'm like, 'Mix the salad. Put them to use. Come on!'"
