Ida Director Pawel Pawlikowski Ignores Wrap-Up Music at Oscars 2015: Funny Video!

It was bound to happen! Stars are often shooed off the stage year after year during their Oscar acceptance speeches — but this guy wasn’t having it! Ida director Pawel Pawlikowski hilariously (and fearlessly!) stayed on stage to continue his thank yous even after the wrap-up music began.

The revered Polish filmmaker, 57, had reason to draw out his celebration. His award for the Best Foreign Language Film of the Year is the first Oscar he’s ever received after many nominations over his career.

Pawlikowski seemed to pause for a moment at the podium as the orchestra swelled but continued anyway. He thanked his pals for being “resilient, courageous, brave, and funny” and squeezed in his appreciation for his children. As for when the second round of wrap-up music started? He just kept on going!
