Timing is everything! Iggy Azalea opted to postpone her wedding to fiancé Nick Young given certain logistical circumstances, she told Ryan Seacrest during an interview with his KIIS-FM radio show on Friday, March 18.
“I’m planning my wedding, actually moved my wedding 'cause I have to tour so my wedding plans are changing,” said the rapper, who dropped her brand-new single, “Team," today. “It was going to happen at the end of the year, but now I have to go to work so we’ll probably have to wait until the end of the next basketball season to do that. So that kind of is a bit sucky, but it’s all right.”
Azalea, 25, added that NBA player Young, 30, has been supersupportive of her decision and jokes that he’ll get to “be a bachelor for longer.”
“[He’s] really awesome and great and totally understanding and does not mind” postponing their wedding, the “Fancy” singer added. “He’s really milking it, he’s really milking the whole thing. So he’s really happy. Any time he wants to, like, go out with the boys, he’s like, ‘This is my last summer being a bachelor!’ so he likes that. He can milk it for longer with me, so he’s excited.”
The Australian songstress recently revealed to Schön! Magazine that she canceled her 2015 Great Escape tour last year because she was having a really, really hard time dealing with an avalanche of negative press.
“I had to have a psychotic breakdown last year,” she told the magazine. “I felt tired and stressed out. … Last year, I felt like I was definitely not in control of the media’s narrative of me. It made me feel very out of control of my own life or my ability to have my own perception of who I was.”
In 2015, Azalea was involved in several headline-making feuds on social media, including blowouts with Nicki Minaj, Britney Spears and Azealia Banks.
And amid it all, she and the Los Angeles Lakers player got engaged last June.
“See? It’s too much stuff!” Azalea said. “I’ve got to have a wedding and go on a f‑‑king honeymoon and … put on an arena tour, all across the whole world.”
