Yikes! Jason Biggs took to his Twitter during the premiere of The Bachelorette on Monday, May 19, and mocked late contestant Eric Hill, who passed away last month in a paragliding accident.
The 36-year-old actor, who has a history of making fun of the ABC dating show, began his series of tweets with: “Crazy rule change—instead of voting off the contestants, this season #TheBachelorette gets to kill them off.”
Hill’s death, which occurred after the show had wrapped filming, was acknowledged by ABC at the start of the premiere, with Chris Harrison noting his love of traveling and adventure and dedicating the season to him. The 32-year-old contestant received a rose from Bachelorette Andi Dorfman during the first rose ceremony and reportedly advanced further on in the show.
In another arguably insensitive tweet, Biggs continued: “Here’s what I can tell you without watching—8 of the 20 guys are in the closet, all of them workout, and 2 can do simple division,” adding, “And 19 of them are still alive. #TooSoon.”
“It had a huge effect on all of us,” Dorfman, 26, told Us Weekly on May 14 of Hill’s passing. “We heard the news and it was just crushing …You can imagine how much shock and devastation everyone felt.”
The brunette told Us: “This is a guy who really lived life to the fullest and inspired all of us.”
