Jenelle Evans is in serious trouble with the law. The Teen Mom 2 star was arrested in Brunswick, North Carolina on Tuesday, Apr. 23 after officials discovered 12 bindles of heroin in her possession (A bindle is a small paper packet used for storing drugs). According to TMZ, the police were initially called to her home to investigate an alleged domestic dispute between Evans, 21, and her husband Courtland Rogers, 27.
But Evans' latest tussle with the law doesn't stop there. In court documents obtained by the site, Evans was also found to have several other illegal substances and drug paraphernalia in her possession, including prescription painkiller Percocet, plastic wrapping paper (possibly used to hold the heroin) and a glass smoking pipe.
The troubled reality star has also been charged with multiple counts of assault for reportedly striking Rogers with a piece of furniture during their heated argument, the papers reveal.
Not that Rogers was let off the hook completely. The Brunswick County Sheriff's Office also arrested Evans' husband for "hitting her on the neck and striking her with a closed fist on her head," according to TMZ. He was also found to be in possession of heroin with intent to manufacture, sell and distribute, the site reports.
Evans, who is mom to 3-year-old son Jace, was also served with a warrant for failure to pay child support. The young mom previously spoke out about her addiction battles and her four-day stint in rehab.
"I simply feel as if I didn't need to go to treatment if my problem isn't drugs anymore, and never will be again," she wrote on her Sulia page on March 15. "I need individual counseling and therapy if anything for being addicted to relationships. I can honestly admit this about myself and can't seem to help it unless I continue to get the help I need through therapy."
At the time, Evans denied that she and Rogers were reconciled, claiming that she was single and focusing instead on herself and her toddler son.
"Maybe instead of voicing what REALLY happened I'll just stay silent because silence is golden," she wrote. "But I will let everyone know that I AM SINGLE and I AM NOT DATING ANYONE. I'm focusing on myself and my son's life, nobody else's."
Evans and Rogers tied the knot in December 2012 after just a few months of dating, but called off their brief marriage in February after Evans accused Rogers of cheating on her.
