Smiling after split! Jennifer Lawrence stepped out in Santa Monica, Calif., on Monday, Oct. 27, hours after Us Weekly confirmed the news of her split from rocker Chris Martin.
In new photos taken by x17 online, Lawrence pumped her own gas while looking effortlessly chic in a loose-fitting long-sleeve dress and a pair of black booties. The Oscar-winning actress, 24, who swept her short blonde locks back with a headband, beamed from behind her shades and appeared to be in a great mood as she returned to her car.
The photographer who took the snap told x17 that the newly single Hunger Games star was "totally relaxed and happy" for the outing, and "kind of laughed" when she was asked about her breakup.
Multiple sources confirmed to Us on Monday that Lawrence and Martin, 37, had split after four months of dating.
One insider told Us that the reason for their breakup was largely due to both stars' "insane" work schedules. "They real like each other," the source explained, "but it's just so complicated with so much going on."
Another source told Us that Lawrence was the one who initiated the split at the end of last week. See pics of the two in happier times.
As previously reported by Us, Lawrence had a crush on the Coldplay rocker long before they became an item, while Martin believed the goofy star was "the real deal."
The two started dating in late June, shortly after Lawrence split from her boyfriend of three years, Nicholas Hoult. Martin, meanwhile, consciously uncoupled from his wife of 10 years, Gywneth Paltrow, in late March.
