Does Las Vegas have room for another diva?!
Britney Spears and Mariah Carey have competition heading into town — Jennifer Lopez has confirmed a Las Vegas residency at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, starting January 2016.
The 45-year-old singer made the announcement during Tuesday, May 12's American Idol, confirming rumors that she will begin a headlining residency show on Wednesday, Jan. 20.
And talking after the show, she told Us Weekly and other reporters that taking a show to Vegas has been a lifelong dream of hers.
"[It's] just the idea of creating the show I always wanted to create," she said. "A tour is a different animal and to be in the one place doing a show that I've always imagined creating at this moment in my life — I'm very excited about it," she continued.
"It's going to be everything the fans have come to know me for onstage. I'll have dancers, hip-hop, it's going to be a high-energy type of show that anybody can come and see, the fans and everybody else," she said.
Tickets for the first 20 performances at the resort's Axis theatre will go on sale to the public on Saturday, May 16.
