Jessa Duggar had to have an ambulance come during her home birth -- details

Jessa Duggar’s home birth doesn’t seem to have gone as smoothly as anticipated. The 23-year-old reality personality delivered her baby boy at home on Thursday, Nov. 5, but according to TMZ, an ambulance had to be called.

The Daily Mail reports that Duggar's mom, Michelle, made the 911 call.

TMZ, which shared video of an ambulance in front of the Duggar home, reports that the 19 Kids and Counting alum had to be hospitalized after welcoming her son. But photos on the Seewald family blog show new dad Ben Seewald holding their newborn son, who is wrapped in a towel, while in front of a home closet.

The Daily Mail reports that Duggar's mom, Michelle, made the 911 call.

The family has not addressed any complications that may have arisen during childbirth, and Seewald told fans on Friday, Nov. 6, that Jessa and their child are doing just fine.

“Our sweet baby boy was born last night,” he shared on their site. “He weighed 9 lbs and 11 ounces and is 21 1/4 inches long! He’s precious and both he and Jessa are doing great.” The new parents has not yet shared the baby’s name.

This is the second Duggar grandchild for Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar. Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard are parents to 6-month-old son Israel.
