David and Darlene’s love lives on! Johnny Galecki shared the sweetest Instagram #TBT pic on Thursday, Dec. 3, of himself and former on-screen love Sara Gilbert in a tender moment on Roseanne.
“#TBT @thesaragilbert #roseanne Love you dearly, Soap,” the Big Bang Theory star, 40, captioned the nostalgic image of himself gazing lovingly at the Talk co-host, also 40, in a moment from Season 7 of the classic sitcom. The stars would have been about 20 years old at the time.
Galecki’s and Gilbert’s characters, David and Darlene, played high school loves who eventually had a baby girl and married after Darlene went to college. The two also dated in real life when they were in their teens, and have remained good friends.
The Roseanne alums teamed up again years after the sitcom signed off in 1997. Gilbert, who is now married to 4 Non Blondes’ Linda Perry, appeared on several episodes of The Big Bang Theory from 2007 to 2010. She played fellow scientist Leslie Winkle, with whom Galecki’s nerdy Leonard Hofstadter hooked up.
