Sad news. Singer JoJo has taken to Instagram to post a touching letter to her father, Joel Levesque, who died at age 60 on Saturday, Nov. 14.
Sharing a sweet photo of herself and her dad, the "Leave (Get Out)" singer, 24, wrote, "I missed you even while you were here. I will miss you infinitely more now that you're gone. Thank you for holding on as long as you did. I know you tried your best. You are free now. I will love you always, Dad. I can feel you with me. Rest now. In PEACE. I miss your voice. I wish more people could have heard it. I promise I will keep singing for you."
JoJo (real name Joanna Noelle Levesque), who rose to fame in the mid-2000s alongside singers like Jessica Simpson, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, and Mandy Moore, grew up in a home filled with music.
Her father, Joel, was a blues singer and her mom, Diane, had a background in musical theater and was a church soloist. "I just listened and learned," she said in an interview with USA Today in 2004.
