Jon Pardi’s estranged wife, Summer Pardi, is speaking out about their divorce.
“I know many of you have seen the news about Jon and me. I wanted to acknowledge it here beyond the joint statement we put out. This has been a very difficult and deeply personal time for our family. While so much of our life is shared online, there are parts of it that I’ll always choose to keep private, especially something as difficult as this,” Summer, 37, wrote via her Instagram Story on Tuesday, July 7. “I’m so grateful for the kindness, prayers and support so many of you have already shown us. It truly means more than you know.”
She continued, “I will continue showing up on here and sharing links and parts of my life with you, like I always have. This space is part of my work, but it’s also a place that brings me joy, connecting with so many of you. Again, thank you for all of the love and support for our family.”
Summer concluded her statement with a simple white heart emoji. Days prior, Jon, 41, and Summer announced their split via social media.
“After much thought, we have made the difficult decision to end our marriage,” the pair wrote in a joint Instagram statement on Friday, July 3. “Our daughters will always remain our highest priority and we are committed to moving forward with love and respect as coparents. Thank you for your understanding, support and respect as we navigate these changes as a family.”
Summer filed to dissolve the pair’s marriage in Tennessee in May, according to court documents obtained by Us Weekly. Summer claimed that she and Jon had separated that month, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason behind calling it quits.
Jon and Summer tied the knot in 2020 before welcoming daughters Presley, 3, and Sienna, 23 months. After news broke of their split, a source exclusively told Us that the pair were having “major issues” since last year.
“They all but separated right before the holidays [in December] and even unfollowed each other on Instagram,” the insider shared, adding that the twosome refollowed each other on social media sometime before announcing their split.
The source shared that Summer was “fed up” with Jon but attempted to repair their marriage before deciding to separate.
“They tried to work it out for their kids,” the insider said, “but ultimately couldn’t, so she filed for divorce.” (Us reached out to a representative for Jon for comment at the time.)
