Is Josh Duhamel the one who needs to watch his language now? In a recent interview with The Associated Press, the Safe Haven actor used the male pronoun "he" when talking about his pending baby with wife Fergie — but it may have just been a slip of the tongue.
"You know your kid is going to get — he's going to fall and bump his head. And he's going to do all of those things," the actor told the AP of childproofing their home. "But that to me is going to be the hardest thing."
Duhamel, 40, and Fergie, 37, announced their happy baby news in February via Twitter after the Black Eyed Peas singer reportedly let loose an explicative.
"She was the one when we first found out that was like, 'This [bleep] just got real.' Those were the first words out of her mouth," he told the New York Post's Page Six later that month.
But now that the initial shock has worn off, Duhamel said the couple is looking forward to welcoming the littlest member of their growing brood — even if the first-time mom-to-be has much to learn.
"You know, I was telling my wife yesterday. She didn't know that you can bathe kids in a sink when they're newborn," he said of giving Fergie some parenting tips (the actor had to help take care of two much-younger sisters growing up). "That's where you bathe them, in a sink, because they're so little. She's like, 'Really?!"
But regardless of the learning curve to come, the pair, who married in 2009, will be each others' biggest support in the coming months and years, Duhamel explained.
"We're completely happy. We're much wiser than we were 10 years ago," the Transformers actor said of the well-timed pregnancy. "I think we're so strong as a couple and all of those things are really important when you bring a little one into the world."
